UGANDA MUSICIAN EDDY KENZO WINS A 2015  BET AWARD FOR VIEWERS CHOICE: BEST NEW INTERNATIONAL ARTISTE

Musician Eddy Kenzo has done it.!  He has won the first ever Viewer's Choice: Best New International Artist at the BET Awards 2015.   He also looks like he had a blast at the awards. Won the award and walked on The BET Red Carpet...Check out the photos.

Uganda's dancehall artist Edrisa Musuuza, known professionally by his stage name as Eddy Kenzo clinched the ‘Viewer's Choice Best New International Artist’ gong at the 2015 BET Awards held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.

Kenzo became the first Ugandan and overall East African artiste to ever win a Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award.

In this new category, the votes were decided by fans which helped Kenzo beat two new African artistes in South Africa's Cassper Nyovest and Tanzania's female artist Vanessa Mdee and three from the UK: George The Poet (who happens to be a Ugandan living in the UK), MIC Lowry from China and Novelist from UK to take the award.

Shortly after the ceremony, the visibly esstatic Kenzo took to social media i.e. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to thank his fans for voting for him.  "Before I say anything let me dedicate this award to all Ugandans wherever you are in the world, it has been a long journey; it's the first of its kind in East Africa.  This for Uganda, Uganda really needed this.  To all my fans all over the world thanks for the support and the voting may God bless you.  I am coming home God is the greatest" wrote the Sitya Loss singer.

Kenzo's song 'Sitya Loss' took him to another level internationally after the video went viral, it was captivating with well-choreographed dancing kids.  The video garnered global attention and over 12 million Youtube views making it the highest viewed Ugandan video and fifrth in Africa as of last year.  His other song 'Jambole' with the same kids dancing has over 2 million Yotube views.

BET Awards are organised annually by America's Black Entertainment Television network to ccelebrate African American and other minorities in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainment.

The other African artistes nominated in the category "Best International Act: Africa" included South Africa's AKA and The Soil, Nigeria's Wizkid and Yemi Alade, Ghana's Sarkodie and Stonebwoy, DRC's Fally Ipupa and Kenya's music group Sautisoul.

Kenzo was welcomed home by a very HUGE crowd and his musician wife Rema and their aby girl Aamal.

UGANDA'S UGLIEST MAN BECOMES A DAD FOR THE EIGHTH TIME WITH HIS SECOND WIFE

Godfrey Baguma a 47 year old man nicknamed Sebabi  which means 'ugliest of them all' suffers from a rare yet undiagnosed medical condition giving him his distinctive look.  Baguma a man crowned the ugliest man in Uganda has become a dad for the EIGHTH time.

Baguma married his wife Kate Namanda, 30, in 2013 and the couple have just welcomed a new baby girl into their family.  Since then the couple have had six kids, two of Sebabi's kids come from his first marriage which broke up some years ago.

In one of the interviews Baguma said “I caught my first wife cheating with another man and I assured her our relationship was over.  She liked me because of my money, but people kept telling her that she could do better, so she started eloping with another man." Sebabi then met Namanda, who was 18 at the time, through his aunt who played go between.  He further said "I stayed with her four years before her people knew where she was. I didn’t want them to see me until we had a child because they would definitely advise her to leave me.  She left me when she was six months pregnant but I think she later accepted her fate because she came back two months later.  I told her that I didn’t choose to look the way I do and that if she feels I am a burden, she is free to live me."  But she chose to stay and in 2013 they held a wedding ceremony that put his hometown Kyazanga, in the Lwengo District of Uganda, at a standstill.  Guests at the wedding had to pay 4,000 Ugandan shillings (about 70p) to attend the reception and see the woman Sebabi married.

In 2002 he entered a contest to find Uganda's ugliest man due to financial difficulties and he won, he is now a celebrity in Uganda.  Sebabi is a former cobbler who now uses his unique features to earn a living.  He appears at events just for people to see him, but he took it a step further by launching a singing career and acting.  He says he doesn’t want to go on stage for people to just stare at him.

All hope is not lost, good for you Godfrey 'Sebabi' Baguma.

AISHA NABUKEERA THE GIRL WHO WAS BURNT BY AN EVIL STEP-MOTHER IN 2006 IS CONTESTING FOR MISS UGANDA 2015

Aisha Nabukeera is one of the 21 girls who will be contesting for the 2015 Miss Uganda crown on 10th July 2015. The girls were unveiled at the Kampala Serena Hotel. The winner will replace current Miss Uganda Leah Kalanguka and also represent Uganda in the Miss World pageant.

Nothing can replace her natural body. Although her body is burnt, her face surprisingly defied the infamy. With culled hair and braids, Nabukeera looks beautiful.  Her beautiful face is sometimes contorted in pain.

When Aisha Nabukeera's body went up in flames in 2006 burnt by an evil step-mother, little did she know she would become a ray of hope for abused children. Nabukeera, then, was just any other 14-year-old village girl in school at Masaka struggling to have a bright future.

Nabukeera underwent four operations, largely to loosen the flesh around her left and right arm pits. The operations were carried out at Mengo Hospital, Uganda by Dr Andrew Hodges.

Nabukeera's infamy was very painful.  This is evident in what she says of her parents.  My parents hatred should not have been a price for me to pay, she says.  The case should not have been in the limelight had it not been for the intervention of businessman Frank Gashumba. Gashumba met Nabukeera at the Masaka Magistrates Court, where her father had an ongoing land wrangle case. "When I heard her story, I was touched and I decided to help her get both treatment and justice" Gashumba said.  But before deciding to help, he sought the authority of magistrate who was handling the case and he gave him the go-ahead as long as Nabukeera's parents also accepted.  He then met Ahmed Matovu, Nabukeera's father and asked him about the girl.  Her father told Gashumba the day they met that Nabukeera was burnt by a charcoal stove.

She spent days crying in pain says her mother Sophia Nakandi.  “Now there is hope. Not only for Nabukeera, but also for other abused children” her mother said.   “Just a smile today restores my hope for the future, smiles are coming in fast and in different categories” Nabukeera wrote in her section on her website.  Smiles that offer hope not only to Nabukeera, but also to other children in her situation.

Gashumba who decided to take the mantle of a guardian and made sure Aisha Nabukeera would live a life full of love and splendor. Frank Gashumba took on Aisha Nabukeera as a guardian in 2006. Like any supportive parent, he has backed her dream to become Miss Uganda.

Rather than be caged into her unfortunate past, Nabukeera has embraced the scars from the fire. She says they remind her of her past, but they will not dictate where she is going. She came short of being another statistic, another of those children who suffer child-abuse at the hands of their step-mothers, today she’s soared greater than her former self. This is the transition of Aisha Nabukeera, from a girl who was allegedly burnt by her step-mother when she poured paraffin on her body and lit her on fire.

AISHA YOU ARE ALREADY A WINNER....WHICH EVER OUTCOME WE WISH YOU THE BEST!

SARAH KYOLABA AMIN WIFE TO THE LATE FORMER PRESIDENT OF UGANDA IDI AMIN DADA HAS PASSED ON IN A LONDON WHERE SHE HAS BEEN LIVING

Sarah Kyolaba Amin, wife to the late former Ugandan president Idi Amin Dada has passed on yesterday, in a London hospital, she has been living in London for decades.

She was a young dancer in the army dance troupe and had one child born on Christmas day 1974. She could have been no more than twenty years when she got married to Amin. Still young, as the pictures show (see the 6 pics in album). We can do the maths and say she was about 60, when she passed on.

It is rumored Amin killed her boyfriend so he could marry her. He was a member of the Cranes Band. The late Kyolaba was in her late teens or early twenties when she got married to 'Big Daddy' as some people referred to him just in time for the OAU Heads of State Summit in 1975. It is said he was charmed by her dancing strokes.

She owned a restaurant in London town where mostly Ugandans having been eating local foods. She not only danced so elegantly but was very stylish, always conducted herself with dignity and down to earth according to people who knew her.

RIP MAMA SARAH!
